Playground Problem

I am very proud of a group of fourth grade students. On their own, they created a petition to "save our swings." We have a problem with people, mostly youth, coming on our playground and winding up the swings, writing nasty things on the play equipment, damaging the fences, and other acts of vandalism. These students are going to bring the problem to the attention of the community and ask for some help! Watch for an article in the St. Albans Messenger, Swanton Selectboard meeting on November 5th, or the Swanton School Board meeting on November 10th for updates. Do you have any ideas? How can we protect our playground?

I think the people who are damaging the playground should be located. How can you help locate the people? Once you find them, they should meet the children who use the playground. The children should ask them to stop, and show them how to clean up the mess. The ones who left the mess should help clean up their own mess.
